School Visits

Author Visits with Amanda Boulding

I am very happy to visit your school and run a fun, interactive session for Key Stage 1 children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2).

During the visit, children will enjoy a lively reading of my picture books — including my newest title, TOO MUCH — followed by a hands-on creative workshop. Together, we’ll explore storytelling through drawing and writing, bringing their own animal characters to life.

These sessions also gently introduce important themes such as kindness, courage, and caring for the natural world. Children will not only experience the magic of stories, but also discover simple, meaningful ways they can help protect animals and the planet. A perfect blend of fun and thoughtfulness, designed to inspire young minds.

Teacher Feedback World Book Week March 2025

“Our KS1 children were absolutely captivated by Amanda’s author workshop. From start to finish, they were completely attentive, and asked incredibly thoughtful and engaging questions. It was a joy to see them so focused and inspired. We would wholeheartedly welcome Amanda back to our school.” – Year 1 Teacher, St Edmund Campion Primary School, Berkshire

Quote from Becci, a Year 2 teacher, praising Amanda for a story writing session with children on World Book Day, with a beach scene and a smiling face illustration at the bottom.

“Amanda’s stories are a delight! The bright colours and engaging animal characters immediately drew our Reception children in. The interactive elements of the workshop kept them thoroughly entertained and involved. They were so enthusiastic, they wanted Amanda to read all three books! A truly wonderful and memorable experience for our pupils.” – Key Stage 1 Lead, White Waltham Primary School

The educational elements woven into your workshop were both interesting and importantly, very accessible for our young learners. The messages of kindness in the stories resonated deeply with the children, and they demonstrated a clear understanding. It was fantastic to see them so inspired to think about these values and even begin to create their own stories afterwards. Thank you!
